Iceland 2014

In 2014 my wife and I flew to Iceland. When we got there, we were greeted by rain. But the next day when we visited Reykjavík, it was sunny. In the following days we visited the Snaefellsnes peninsula and the West Fjords, but we did not have good weather. My wife and I drove the F35, a major link road between Akureyri and Reykjavík in the highlands of Iceland. It was a very bumpy ride to the geothermal area Hveravellir. There we were expecting a snarling mini volcano and some smelly sulfur springs. On one of the following days we went with a guide to the wonderful volcano Askja, who had been afflicted only days ago by snowstorms. The small Vitikrater having a temperature of about 25 ° C, is the most recent crater. He has a milky water is good for bathing. Behind it is an older crater to see where can even swim ice floes. In the last week we Iceland round trip my wife and I came to the south. We visited the ice lake Jokulsarlon, the waterfalls Skogafoss, Selljandsfoss and Gullfoss. Mostly we just had bad weather, but at the Gullfoss let the sun look and there was a beautiful rainbow in gorgeous colors.

My wife and I liked the tour of Iceland very much and we would like to repeat.
